1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
2. Service Description
Bakerly is an online platform connecting home bakers with buyers across South Africa. The Platform provides:
- Marketplace for bakers to list and sell homemade baked goods
- Tools for buyers to discover, order, and review products
- Order management and communication features
- Payment facilitation between buyers and bakers
3. User Accounts & Registration
Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
4. Baker Obligations
Bakers must comply with applicable food safety laws, provide accurate descriptions of products, and fulfill orders professionally.
5. Buyer Obligations
Buyers must provide accurate delivery information, make payments as agreed, and act respectfully toward bakers and other users.
6. Orders and Payments
Orders placed via the Platform are direct agreements between buyers and bakers. At this time, integrated delivery management, PIN verification, and on-platform payment proof uploads are planned features and are not yet available; buyers and bakers should arrange delivery and payment confirmation outside the Platform and keep their own records. Accepted payment methods may include EFT and Cash on Delivery (COD); any integrated payment processors or platform fees will be disclosed to users when available.
Note: Legal review recommended to confirm payment/dispute and fee policies.
7. Prohibited Activities
- Using the Platform for illegal purposes, fraud, or harassment
- Uploading malicious content or attempting to disrupt Platform operations
- Impersonating other users or misrepresenting your identity
8. Product Quality & Food Safety
Bakers are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and hygiene of products. The Platform does not verify, inspect, or guarantee any product.
9. Intellectual Property
Content owned by Bakerly remains our property. Bakers retain ownership of their product listings, descriptions, and images.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is." We take no responsibility for any disputes, losses, damages, or outcomes arising from user transactions or interactions.
11. Legal Disputes & Indemnification
Any baker, buyer, or third party initiating legal action against Bakerly shall be liable for all legal fees, court costs, and other expenses incurred by the Platform in defending such action.
12. Security and Safety Tips
Tips for Buyers:
- Verify baker identity, location, and contact information.
- Ask about allergens and shelf life before ordering.
- Meet in safe public areas if collecting orders.
- Keep proof of transactions and communications.
Tips for Bakers:
- Verify buyer identity before large orders.
- Use traceable, secure payment methods.
- Avoid delivering to isolated or unsafe locations alone.
- Document orders, packaging, and instructions clearly.
13. Account Termination
The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating these Terms.
14. Changes to Terms
The Platform may update these Terms at any time without notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

By using Bakerly, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, including the No Obligation clauses. Specifically, you also agree that buyers may view bakers' contact and necessary personal information, and bakers may view buyers' contact information as needed to facilitate orders and communications on the Platform.
